NCBA Bank Rwanda today launched the first-ever NCBA Rwanda Golf Series at the Kigali Golf Resort and Villas, marking a significant moment for both the bank and Rwanda’s growing golf community.
The series, themed “Swing Your Way to Greatness,” officially kicked off with a golf clinic on August 9 and continues tomorrow, August 10, drawing in over 200 golfers. The competition will culminate in a grand finale on September 21, 2024.
Top performers from the Rwanda Series will earn the chance to compete in the regional NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale at Muthaiga Golf Club in Kenya on November 29, 2024.
“We are thrilled to introduce the NCBA Golf Series, a testament to our dedication to Rwanda’s sports progress,” said Diana Mukunde, NCBA Rwanda’s Head of Business. Andrew Kulayije, Captain of Kigali Golf Club, highlighted the partnership’s potential to elevate the sport in the region: “Beyond sports and business, golf embodies health, wellness, etiquette, and discipline. We are proud to have this partnership that will take golf to the next level in Rwanda and the region. The competition will be a Net Stroke Play format with three winners emerging from six categories. Prizes include trophies, golf bags, golf clubs, trips, and hotel stays,” Kulayije explained.
This event builds on the success of NCBA’s golf series in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, with the bank aiming to replicate that achievement in Rwanda. As the fastest-growing subsidiary in the region, NCBA Rwanda’s involvement in the series highlights its commitment to expanding its presence and strengthening community ties.
